My Opinion on Discipline Construction of “Musical Analytics”
Abstract: This paper presented four views: 1) The “musicalanalytics”, appeared after the period of reform and opening, was a new discipline, covering the harmony, polyphony, form, instrumentation, musichistory, musical esthetics, and other subjects, should be a high level of discipline, while the “analysis of music work” only a synonyms for “music forms”.The author appealed that doing not calling the “music forms” as “analysis ofmusic work”, so as not to cause the confusion of concepts. 2) The “musicologicalanalysis”, appeared in recent years, being a category of “music analysis”,which different from the pure technical analysis, but it must be an comprehensive one based on the technical analysis, and added cultural analysis. 3) The author pointed out that it has been irrationality for separating the “musicology”and “theories of compositional technique” in music education at present. 4) This article also suggested that to open a series of preparation course for “musicalanalytics”, such as the history of harmony, Twelve-note system by Schoenberg, theory of harmony by Hindemith, Pitch-class set-theoretic principles by Allen Forte, and Pantonality by Rudolph Réti, etc.
